At GORI & CO., we believe joy can live in the smallest moments — sometimes in a spoonful of ice that melts before you even realize you’re smiling.

Inspired by Japanese kakigori, a shaved ice dessert enjoyed in Japan for centuries dating back to the Heian period, Gori & Co. was created to bring that same feeling of discovery, comfort, and wonder to Jamaica Plain. Traditionally made by delicately shaving blocks of ice into soft, cloud-like flakes, kakigori is known for its light texture and balanced flavors — a completely different experience from the carnival-style shaved ice many people grew up with.

But Gori & Co. is more than a tribute to kakigori.

It’s a bridge between cultures, memories, and neighborhoods. Founded by Boston native and son of Ghanaian immigrants Delasie Dela-Seshie Jr, the shop draws inspiration from flavors and traditions across the world. From Mexican chamoy with pineapple and mango, or Thai tea with black sesame, to Ghanaian hibiscus and Japanese yuzu — all served with care, curiosity, and respect.

We’re not here overcomplicate dessert. We’re here to create moments that feel light, welcoming, and unforgettable.
